Computer Learning Sessions

SeniorNet Learning Sessions are arranged when there are enough students to make the Learning Sessions viable and when tutors are available.

Introduction to Chromebooks

 * Set up and use the basic facilities of the Chromebook
 * Use the Launch button and Shelf
 * Use the Google Store and installing apps
 * Browser the Internet 
 * Use Send/Receive emails with Gmail
 * Storing your Files

Gmail
​This class will cover the main features of Gmail and associated programs.
It will be based on the Web Browser version of Gmail as used on a computer.
​It will not cover the use of the Gmail App on a smartphone or Tablet.

Google Drive (with Docs, Sheets and Slides)

​The Google Drive class will cover Google Drive cloud storage,
along with the associated free office applications:​

• ​Docs - Word Processing​
• Sheets – Spreadsheet
• Slides - Presentations

Word Processing - Basic 
​An introduction to Word Processing covering
 * Option settings & more on windows
 * Editing techniques & spell checker Normal and page layout views
 * Hidden characters
 * Margins, indents and line spacing
 * Page breaks, Headers and Footers Page numbering

Spreadsheets - Basic 
​Use this to number-crunch, keep a check of your accounts etc. 
The Learning Sessions covers:
 * Window layout
 * Navigating through a document
 * Entering and editing information
 * Using and copying formulas
 * Formatting
 * Making repetitive calculations
 * Percentages and averages
 * Producing simple charts
